What is cavities?

Oral health problem

It is a demineralization of the tooth caused by bacteria (plaque dentobacteriana) that adheres to the tooth surface. Cavities usually do not hurt unless they are wide and affect the nerves or cause a tooth fracture.

The first signs of demineralization is a white spot, although the surface is still uniform. If the surface of the enamel has developed there is an injury, it is a tooth decay.

Without treatment it can lead to a dental abscess. Tooth decay that is not treated destroys the inside of the tooth (pulp) which requires more extensive treatment or removal of the tooth.

There may or may not be symptoms Pain or painful sensation in the teeth, especially after consuming drinks or sweet, cold or hot foods.

Caries can be discovered in the early stages of your routine appointments, a dental examination and dental x-rays.

- Root canal treatment . ENDODONTICS. The nerve of the tooth with a diagnosis of reversible pulpitis where there is a pulpal inflammation or a pulpal necrosis caused by caries or dental fracture, indicates the treatment of the ducts where the pulp tissue is extracted and the roots are filled with a material.
